Testimonial from Caroline Knight, Teacher, Burbage School after a Point Blank Taster day with Burbage and Sebright Primary Schools

“I thought the whole day was a huge success! Everybody really enjoyed themselves, especially me!

My overall impression of the children’s experiences throughout the day was that it was both inspiring and educational. Every child learnt new skills, even in that brief time, and thoroughly enjoyed themselves whilst doing so.

It was brilliant to see successful people working in some of the areas that they are interested in- a bit of awe and wonder goes a long way!

As far as organisation goes, I felt that the day ran very smoothly. The sessions were pacey and the children stayed engaged and on task. The change-overs were quick and the efforts of staff members from all teams to get children to the right places, doing the right things, was really beneficial.

The Point Blank tutors were incredibly enthusiastic! They were excited about what was going on and this had a real impact on the children's attitudes too. They were clear about what they wanted the children to do and made sure that the children were clear too.

The mixed groups worked really well! The children interacted well with each other and when we returned to school it was lovely to hear children talking about the new friends they had made from Sebright.

The children were incredibly excited by the whole experience, both the music side of things and the actually being in such an unusual location in a city bank. Every child had something positive that they took away from the day. Upon some further discussion, many were really excited at the prospect of continuing some of these activities and skills further on a weekly basis in school.

Overall I would just like to say a huge thank you to yourself and everyone else that was involved. It was a great day and I'm really looking forward to the start of the in school projects.
